Timothy Oulton Veg Block With Seat Pad
Inspired by old vegetable and butcher’s blocks that were traditionally used for cutting during food preparation. The blocks are handmade using a variety of reclaimed timbers such as elm, pine, okan, bingtangor, mahogany and sycamore, with castors added for easy maneuverability.. The wood has been salvaged from old buildings across rural China, and due to the ambiguity of each piece’s distinct heritage, we have collectively named these timbers Ceena, which means ‘supper’.
The seat pad is finished in Safari, a rugged, distressed leather with a dry texture almost like suede. The leather is polished with smooth limestone pebbles to achieve a natural, pure patina that acquires richness and depth over time.
Shown in: Safari Nutmeg, *available to order upon request.
*All veg blocks are unique and will feature and highlight all the natural characteristics of natural reclaimed wood.
