Timothy Oulton Stonyhurst Medium Chest – Old Saddle Black
Stonyhurst College was founded in 1593 and remains one of the UK’s most prestigious boarding schools. An adaptation of the Ampleforth collection, Stonyhurst similarly transforms Timothy Oulton’s travelinspired trunks into functional furniture.
While preserving all the hallmarks of traditional craftsmanship in its construction and detailing, the collection experiments with a range of innovative finishes including the celebrated Spitfire finish. Unlike the Ampleforth, the Stonyhurst does not include a lift-up lid.
All leather finishes, plus the Shiny and Black Steel options and Oxidized Solid Brass, all come with wooden banding. Both the Spitfire and Aero finish comes without any banding.
Finished in Old Saddle Black, Inspired by equestrian saddles and riding boots, this is full aniline oil pull-up leather that is very soft and slightly oily to the touch. It looks slightly worn and develops a beautiful sheen over time.
