Timothy Oulton Bridge Dining Table
The Bridge collection blends the shape of a classic English refectory table with inspiration from world-famous suspension bridges, echoed in the architectural lines of the frame trusses. Fashioned from century-old oak reclaimed from traditional Chinese houses and handcrafted using mortise and tenon joinery, a time-honoured woodworking technique that dates back thousands of years. The simple, geometric silhouette highlights the timber’s beautiful grain pattern and characterful knots and cracks from its past life.
Reclaimed Oak – Strong and sturdy century-old oak, salvaged from the beams and floorboards of traditional Chinese homes. The timber has an authentically distressed patina, rife with the character that only weathering and age can bring. Cracks, knots, splits, stains, splits and holes are preserved, as testament to the woods seasoned past. *On occasion larger holes are filled with offcuts from the same wood to offer a more functional and usable table top.
