Russell Flint- Under the Terrance, Brontome
‘Dordogne in the southwest of France was a favourite for Sir William Russell Flint. This charming town remains very much as Russell Flint originally painted it many years ago, and is a delight to many of its visitors today. The painting is easily recognizable when walking through the town. Its small winding alleys are lined with patisseries, cafes, and boulangeries. Originally built by the monks as a retreat, and encompassed by the River Dronne, it has become known as the ‘little Venice’.
